OUYA has outed another Abominable Snowman firmware targeted at its game console, namely version 1.2.703, which includes several fixes based mostly on gamer and developer feedback that improve the device’s overall performance and stability.

Specifically speaking, the new update resolves an issue that didn’t allow users to install large games on the external storage, and removes the problem that jammed gamers when booting with the external storage connected.

In addition to that, downloading from the browser to the internal drive has no problems, the external drive now gives proper space reports, ejecting USB prompt won’t lock users up, and burying installed games is now possible for all gamers.

Moreover, the installed and buried games icons are moved to the title bar so that they don’t cover up anything, the BUY button is displayed in Game Details for all gamers, and the scroll problem after backing out from a menu is now fixed.

Despite all these interesting changes, OUYA’s latest release still has an unresolved problem, namely the XBMC audio passthrough. This issue does not have a workaround yet, but it’s the producer’s first-priority item, and hopefully it will be fixed through the next firmware version.

That being said, download Firmware 1.2.703 for OUYA Game Console, apply it to the device, and enjoy the new changes made through this update.
