OPPO has recently released a new public beta firmware for the BDP-103 and BDP-105 Blu-ray players. Because it is a public beta version, you can revert to the previous official release if there are too many bugs unresolved, your device malfunctions or you just don't feel safe running a beta firmware on your product.

The manufacturer provides a detailed list of changes that come with this update, as well as notes for the current release, which you can view on any of the download pages below.

To install it, download the firmware file and copy it to the root directory of a FAT32 formatted USB drive and then safely remove the device.

Go to your Blu-ray player and turn it on, along with the TV it is attached to. Remove all USB connected drives as well as discs.

Next, insert the flash drive containing the firmware file. The player usually can recognize the firmware file and prompt you for firmware upgrade. In case the player does not prompt you, press the SETUP button on the remote control to enter the setup menu. Select Device Setup, Firmware Upgrade, and then Via USB.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update. Do not turn off the player, unplug its power cord, remove the flash drive or try to press any buttons during the installation.

When the setup is done, the device will power itself off. Remove the USB device and start the player. It is recommended that you reset to factory defaults when asked.

Get the latest firmware for your OPPO Blu-ray player, install it and stay “updated one minute ago.”
