OPPO's latest release is aimed at BDP-103, BDP-105, and BDP-103D Blu-ray disc players and is a public beta firmware. Version BDP10X-68-1225B improves Gapless Playback performance and resolves several issues involving Gapless Player. It also fixes the Wi-Fi connection failure with access points or routers using WEP security.

Also fixed by this release are the audio truncation issue occurring with several DVD-Audio discs and the playback failure with certain customer-encoded audio files in WAV, FLAC, and AIFF formats.

You can view the detailed release notes on the download pages for OPPO BDP-103, BDP-105, and BDP-103D Blu-ray disc players firmware BDP10X-68-1225B.

To install, follow the above-mentioned link and download the firmware. Use a FAT32 formatted USB drive and copy the “BDP10X.bin” file to its root folder. Safely remove the memory stick and proceed to the media player.

Remove any discs or USB drives and leave only the memory stick prepared for the update. The player usually recognizes the firmware file and prompts you for firmware upgrade. If that's not your case, press the “Setup” button on your remote and go to “Device Setup.”

Select “Firmware Upgrade,” then “Via USB,” and the update process should begin. There will be some on-screen instructions that need to be followed. Use the remote control for navigation and selection, as the front panel buttons will stop working during the installation.

When the update completes, the player will turn off. Remove the USB stick and power on the unit. Accept to “Reset to factory Defaults” and the process is complete.
