Nikon has made available Distortion Control Lens Data firmware version 1.009 targeted at all of its Digital SLR cameras, which is used to correct barrel and pincushion distortion that occurs while shooting or editing images.

Specifically speaking, the compatible devices are Nikon’s D4, D90, D600, D800, and D800E device, as well as the D3100, D3200, D5000, D5100, D5200, and D7000 products.

The up-mentioned cameras can be used in combination with a huge number of wide-angle, standard, telephoto, and high-powered zoom lenses, single focus lenses, as well as telephoto and macro lenses.

Version 1.009 consists of two download records that deliver two files: one compatible with Microsoft’s Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 operating systems (but only for the 32-bit version), and the other one developed for MAC’s 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, and 10.7 platforms.

Now, if you consider applying this version, you should know that if the upgrade process is interrupted or the camera’s controls are operated while updating, the device may encounter serious damages.

That being said, from the links below, choose the one that best describes your computer’s operating system, and update the lens data stored in your camera.
