This update fixes several issues regarding language display

Nikon has just announced the availability of a new firmware package developed specifically for its COOLPIX S6900 digital cameras, namely version 1.1, which fixes several language display-related issues spotted in setup menu.

Specifically speaking, German language can now be selected even if Setup Menu > Time Zone and Date > Date and Time isn’t configured, and a locked SD memory card won’t prevent users from choosing Hungarian as default language.

Moreover, Persian language won’t encounter problems as a result of the settings screen position, and an active wireless connection won’t forbid Portuguese, Russian, Hungarian, and Romanian languages from being selected anymore.

Last but not least, firmware 1.1 also resolves the bug that didn’t allow owners to select Portuguese (PT) language as default when their camera was charging.

Therefore, if these issues gave you headaches in the past, now is the moment to get rid of these errors. Thus, save and run the downloadable file, format an SD card using the camera, and transfer the newly-created “firmware” folder on it.

However, bear in mind that there are two files available for download: one suitable for Mac OS X 10.6.8 and later platforms, and the other targeted at Microsoft’s Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8.1 operating systems – so make sure you save the correct one.

Once the memory card has been prepared, insert it into the camera, turn on the Nikon unit, go to Menu > Setup > Firmware Version, and follow all on-screen instructions for a complete and successful installation.

That being said, download Nikon COOLPIX S6900 Firmware 1.1, take into account all aforementioned steps, and improve the language display precision on your COOLPIX imaging unit.
