Nikon has just released a new firmware for their Coolpix L28 digital camera. This version fixes an issue that, in some rare cases, prevented the camera from turning on, or prevented operation.

The firmware can be installed under Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8 and requires a few easy procedures.

To begin, download the file from the link below and run it. It will create a folder named “L28 Update” that will contain a sub-folder named “firmware.”

Through an SD memory card reader, copy the “firmware” folder to the removable storage.

Make sure your batteries are fully charged and insert the SD card in your camera. Power up the device and access the “Setup” menu. Choose “Firmware Version” and accept the update.

The next step is to be patient until the setup completes. It might take a minute or two so don't shut down the camera or take out the battery. Follow the on-screen instructions and verify that the new firmware version is 1.1 after you've formatted the card.

Click the link below to download the new firmware and stay “updated one minute ago.”
