Today, Nikon releases multiple firmware update files targeted at 13 of the COOLPIX Cameras due to a battery problem that users sometimes experienced. Thankfully, the team has managed to resolve the issue, and therefore here are the packages.

There is a 1.3 version for the COOLPIX S4000 and a 1.2 version for the S9300, S9200, S4150, and S3000 COOLPIX cameras. Moreover, there is a 1.1 firmware version for the COOLPIX S6300, S6200, S4300, S3300, S3100, S2600, S2550, as well as S2500 digital camera devices.

The problem was with the EH-69P AC adapter and the UC-E6 USB cable, that when connected in order to charge the battery (either EN-EL10, EN-EL12 or EN-EL19) at or very near full exhaustion, prevented the battery from charging.

In order to update to the latest version, first you must check the current version, and if isn’t the latest one, proceed with the next steps. Moreover, although the battery might be low, before starting the update, it should be fully charged so that no problem may occur.

So, run the downloadable file that will create a folder within which you will find the firmware update package. Copy it onto a formatted memory card, insert it into the camera, and turn it on. Select the “Firmware Version” from the setup menu and follow the on-screen instructions.

After the process is complete, be sure to turn off the camera, remove the memory card, and then turn it back on. You can go again to the firmware version to confirm that the process is a success.

Now, take into account all the above mentioned things, follow one of the links below, and download the correct file.
