Nikon, well known for the high-end imaging products it develops, has just made available a new firmware package targeted at one of its waterproof cameras, namely version A:1.01 / B:1.00 compatible with the Nikon 1 AW1 unit.

This newly released package only fixes a problem that prevented the A-GPS from updating under certain circumstances.

As for upgrading your camera’s firmware to this latest version, there are two download records available, one suitable for Mac platforms (10.6.8 and later), and one compatible with quite all of Microsoft’s Windows operating systems (both bit variants).

Therefore, if you consider applying this release, download and run the proper package for your OS and copy the “AW1_0101.bin” file onto the root folder of a formatted memory card (it must be initialized by the camera).

Now insert the SD card into the camera, power on the unit, go to Setup Menu → Firmware Version, and make sure you properly follow the on-screen instructions.

After the firmware is applied, you must turn off the camera, remove the data card, and confirm that the update has been successfully installed by checking the currently installed firmware version (Setup Menu → Firmware Version).

That being said, download Nikon 1 AW1 Camera Firmware A:1.01/B:1.00 that is compatible with your computer’s operating system, take into account all the above-mentioned aspects, apply this latest version, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
