NETGEAR's WNDR3800 wireless, dual band, premium edition router has recently received a firmware update meant to fix the security issues from ISE and shadow file blog. Version 1.0.0.48 also mends the GUI error message “WPS in progress, please try again later.”

Besides the good news from the changelog, NETGEAR mentions two known issues: one with the Time Machine function and one for the Traffic meter. Feel free to read the details on the download page for NETGEAR WNDR3800 Router Firmware 1.0.0.48.

To install this new release, you must first connect your router via cable and make notes of all the settings, as you will need to reset the router to its default settings once the installation is complete.

Download the archive from the link above and unzip it to an accessible location. Next, log into your router (http://www.routerlogin.net should be the default URL) and select the “Advanced” tab.

Go to “Administration,” then “Firmware Upgrade” and browse for the recently extracted file. Click “Upload” to start the update.

It is very important to not interrupt the router while the installation is ongoing. The progress will be displayed by the web GUI.

Get the latest firmware for NETGEAR's WNDR3800 router, install it and stay “updated one minute ago.”
