After having rolled out Firmware 3.0.0.4.378.6117 Beta for RT-AC87, -AC66, and -AC56 Routers, ASUS has now made available the same software version developed for several other of its wireless devices.

Specifically speaking, ASUS has provided a 378.6117 beta update package supporting its RT-AC53U, RT-AC1200HP, RT-N10P, RT-N12HP, RT-N56R, RT-N56U, and RT-N56U (Ver.B1) router models.

In terms of changes, this update fixes lease time and lease expires time, dnsmasq buffer overflow issues, IPv6 ethernet connection failure, as well as the incoming icmp firewall rules (allow/block).

Moreover, the login authentication is more secure, CSRF-related problems are resolved, GUI login brute-force attack receives new protection mechanisms, and admins will now have to modify default “admin” password.

If you intend to upgrade your router, first of all, bear in mind that this version is still a beta release and may or may not include some unknown bugs.

However, if you want your device to be running the latest firmware available and make use of these changes, simply save and unzip the appropriate package, and use the .trx file to initiate the installation.

With this in mind, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your router, apply it, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
