The new package is specifically release for adding compatibility to NVIDIA’s Tesla K80 GPU compute card

Just now, NVIDIA has announced the availability of a new Tesla graphics package, namely version 341.12 WHQL, which has been specifically released for adding support for the producer’s new Tesla K80 GPU.

Unlike the previous NVIDIA Tesla 340.84 version that added compatibility with NVIDIA’s Tesla K8 graphics chipset, this release is only suitable for the 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7 and 8.1 OSes, as well as for Server 2008 x64 and 2012 R2 platforms.

In terms of valid video cards, besides the new addition, version 341.12 maintains support for all K-Series units and C-, M-, and X-Class devices that were already compatible in release 340.84.

Another similarity that I should point out is that NVIDIA recommends Maximus owners to use NVIDIA Quadro/Tesla Graphics Driver 333.11 (or newer Quadro + Tesla releases), as these packages are designed especially for workstations and rendering applications.

As for applying this update, just confirm your system configuration is supported, save the downloadable executable, run it, and follow the on-screen instructions for a complete and successful upgrade.

In addition to that, if not requested by the wizard, make sure to perform a computer reboot after the new video driver has been applied. This will ensure you that all changes take effect and the new Tesla K80 GPU is recognized properly.

With this in mind, download NVIDIA Tesla Graphics Driver 341.12, apply it, and constantly check our website in order to stay ‘updated one minute ago.”
