The new release adds compatibility for Dynamic QoS

NETGEAR has just rolled out a new firmware package developed for its R7900 router model, namely version 1.0.0.8, which adds support for Dynamic QoS and Genie Remote to the AC3000 Nighthawk X6 Tri-Band wireless device.

If you intend to make use of these changes, first save and unzip the downloadable archive on your local storage. Also, write down all settings that have been modified from the default values, as they will need to be reentered manually afterwards.

Now, establish a wired connection between your Nighthawk X6 router and the computer you have stored the firmware on, log into it administration page (username and password should be required), and go to ADVANCED > Administration > Firmware Upgrade.

Afterwards, click “Browse,” navigate and select the newly extracted “R7900-V1.0.0.8_10.0.5.chk,” hit the “Upload” button, and make sure to allow your device to do its job.

Bear in mind that, while upgrading (progress bar is filling up), you mustn’t reboot/power off either the router or computer, remove the Ethernet cable, or interrupt the process in any way. Doing so might cause various malfunctions that you would rather avoid.

That being said, download NETGEAR R7900 Router Firmware 1.0.0.8, take into account all aforementioned aspects, apply it on your device, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
