NETGEAR has rolled out a new firmware update developed for its AC1900 Nighthawk Smart Router (R7000), namely version 1.0.4.30, which fixes MAC 10.10 home route issue for VPN service, as well as some wireless stability problems.

In addition to that, the producer resolves some remote router management failures in certain browsers, and prevents ReadyCLOUD access failure by setting PPPoE connection mode to “Always On.”

Moreover, ReadyCLOUD registration won’t return errors in areas of China anymore, USB printer will be available even when access control is set to “Block all new devices from connecting,” and DLNA manual database rescan button is added.

When it comes to upgrading your router, simply save and extract the downloadable archive, and write down all values that have been changed from the default settings (they must be re-entered manually afterwards).

Now log into the router’s administration page (user and password might be required), go to ADVANCED tab > Administration > Firmware Upgrade, hit “Browse,” navigate and select the newly extracted .chk file, and click the “Upload” button.

At this point, the new software will be transferred to the router, and upon completion, the R7000 unit will automatically initiate the upgrade process.

As for recommendations, since wireless technology tends to disconnect randomly, it would be best to perform the installation process by connecting the router to the computer using an Ethernet cable.

That being said, download NETGEAR R7000 Router Firmware 1.0.4.30, take into account all the aforementioned aspects, and upgrade your router firmware to the latest version.
