This update improves scalability in large ADS environments

NETGEAR has made available for download its latest ReadyNAS firmware update targeted at most of its network storage devices, namely version 6.2.1, which fixes ADS account imports, ReadyCloud client home shares, as well as various other issues.

If this release is applied, physical buttons problems will be resolved for RN10x systems, scalability in large ADS environments will be improved, and occasional ReadyCloud invitation errors won’t be encountered anymore.

In addition to that, default TimeMachine settings will be used for new accounts, 3rd party apps that conflicted with admin page UI are disabled, mounting an external storage will skip EFI System Partitions, and offline network interfaces are now properly configured.

Moreover, the hang issue on large SMB2/3 is fixed, NFS thread count can now be set below 8, potential false positives from Bit Rot Protection are history, and EXT3/4 external drives sync mode is disabled in order to improve write performance.

Furthermore, fixes for improper rejection of FQDNs, certain snapshot-related operations, and several others have been added. To view the complete changelog, as well as the deployment notes and limitations, just click on the “Release Notes” button below.

When it comes to compatibility, NETGEAR has provided users with two firmware types: one arm-based package suitable for RN102, RN104, and RN2120 systems, and one x86-based software that supports its RN312, RN314, RN316, RN516, RN716x, RN3130, RN3220, and RN4220 device series.

That being said, download NETGEAR ReadyNAS Firmware 6.2.1 for your specific device model, apply it on the NAS, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
