NETGEAR has just made available a new firmware package developed for its R6100 wireless router, namely version 1.0.0.60, which only sets up the device in accordance with the new EN 300 328 v1.8.1 and EN 301 893 v1.7.1 requirements and regulations.

Bear in mind that, with this release, the router will still encounter some issues with Windows Media Player’s DLNA client (it takes longer to receive files from a USB-attached device), as well as accuracy problems with traffic volume control.

Overall, if you want to upgrade your device, first of all check its currently installed firmware version and make sure it isn’t newer of matching this release. If it’s OK, save and extract the downloadable file and establish a wired connection between router and computer.

Afterwards, log into R6100’s administration interface (username and password should be required), go to Advanced > Administration > Firmware Upgrade, and click the “Browse” button.

Now, simply navigate and select file “R6100-V1.0.0.60.img,” click “Upload,” and wait for your router to do its job. Bear in mind that you mustn’t interrupt with the installation in any, as doing so can lead to various device malfunctions.

With this in mind, download NETGEAR R6100 Router Firmware 1.0.0.60, and carefully apply it on your wireless unit. Also, check our website as often as possible in order to be aware when newer versions are available for your device.
