The new update enables new functionality and features

Today Microsoft has provided the download link corresponding to its March Firmware and Driver update package targeted at the Surface Pro 3 tablet, which only includes a new Surface Pen Settings driver version as a change.

Specifically speaking, Microsoft’s release installs the 3.0.64.0 Surface Pen Settings driver, which enables new Surface app functionality and features (application accessible from Windows Store).

Therefore, if you want to apply this update on your tablet, you can either do that automatically using the Windows Update Service, or manually by downloading, extracting, and installing all the drivers.

Even though the first method seems easier, take into account that, through this service, updates are delivered in stages to all Surface Pro 3 owners. As a result, not every device will be upgraded simultaneously and a reasonable amount of time might pass until yours receives it.

When it comes to the manual method, using this process will ensure that the Surface unit will be updated right away. To perform this task, simply save and extract the downloadable archive, and install each driver and firmware included within the newly-created folder.

Finally, once all files have been applied, we recommend that you reboot your tablet manually (if an automatic restart isn’t requested), to ensure all changes take effect properly.

With this in mind, download Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Tablet Firmware/Driver March 2015, apply it on your device, and check back with us as often as possible to be aware when a newer update is available for your product.
