A few moments ago, Microsoft made available the February 2014 firmware and drivers packages developed for Surface Pro and Surface Pro 2 windows tablets, which include several fixes and updates that improve the devices’ overall performance and stability.

Specifically speaking, this release updates System Aggregator firmware version to 2.04.0150 (Surface Pro 2) and 2.84.015 (Surface Pro) and, with this upgrade, the devices will not reset anymore when attaching and detaching the cover several times.

In addition to that, the On-Screen Keyboard problem that popped up unexpectedly even if the Cover was attached is now resolved, and the issue where the tablet’s Cover would not be detected when powering on from a sleep state has also been fixed.

Aside from these changes, the Surface Pro device gets Embedded controller firmware 9.00.50 and UEFI version 1.6.50 in order to resolve the problem with the device restarting when waking up from sleep and to improve the Surface Cover experience on the tablet, respectively.

Just like the Surface Pro, the Surface Pro 2 also gets some additional changes along with its February 2014 compatible package.

To be clear, the issue where the Surface Pro 2 would not go into hibernation, as well as the one where the available battery percentage was displayed incorrectly, is fixed by updating the Embedded controller firmware version to 24.00.50.

Moreover, the two-finger touchpad experience is improved through Surface Touch and Type Cover 2 firmware version 2.0.228.0 and 2.0.226.0, respectively, and the Surface display calibration tuning feature is now available thanks to Surface Display Panel version 1.0.2.0.

That being said, download Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet Firmware/Driver February 2014 or download Microsoft Surface Pro 2 Tablet Firmware/Driver February 2014, apply the new release, and enjoy all the changes that the new update brings.
