14 DAY TRIAL // M-Audio, the American manufacturer of MIDI and audio devices for the PC or Mac, has just launched a new driver for its Producer USB microphone. Version 6.1.0 will work only on Windows 7 and 8, both 32 and 64 bit versions.
The package targets Producer USB Microphone and Vocal Studio products and, according to its changelog, the changes that come with this update are the addition of Windows 8 support, as well as inMusic branding and certificates.
The downside of this update, its known issues, include only the inability of the new driver to uninstall its predecessor, therefore M-Audio strongly recommends you to do that.
The microphone features 16-bit recording at CD quality, large 16mm cardioid capsule protected by wire mesh, 1/8” stereo output for connecting headphones and monitoring without latency and a durable metal body.
The LED power indicator will let you know when it's on and the included desktop stand will come in handy if you decide to record while sitting.
