Today, after almost 4 months, Leshcat has proudly announced the release of its new Catalyst 15.4 Beta 1 UnifL v2.0, which enables experimental support for Windows 10, unlocks CCC profiles, and includes several other performance and stability improvements.

This fresh update sets the ForceVideoPlaybackToIntegrated parameter to “1,” integrates Microsoft’s Update KB3033929 check so that SHA-2 certificates on Windows 7 can be recognized and used, and includes a DX9 performance fix for all AMD GPUs.

In addition to that, for all Intel graphics chipsets, it improves media playback and adds a Microsoft fix that resolves standby, wakeup, and shutdown issues on several notebooks. This bug occurred because AMD does support Runtime Power Management (RTPM), but Intel doesn’t.

When it comes to AMD video cards, Leshcat’s team has enabled the KMD_EnableCrossGpuDisplaySupport parameter to remove HDMI problems, as well as the black screen on application run, screen sharing, and teamview.

Moreover, they have disabled the EnableUlps parameter for the same GPUs, so a large number of notebooks won’t encounter a delayed Startup or BSOD anymore. However, keep in mind that this change will lead to a slightly higher battery consumption.

As for compatible operating systems, the present package is suitable for the 64-bit variants of Microsoft Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 platforms, and applies different driver versions depending on your configuration and OS.

Last but not least, even though these improvements are very helpful, don’t forget that Leshcat’s update is still a Beta release, and some known issues have not yet been resolved. Thus, make sure to read the Release Notes below prior to upgrading your system.
