Leica has just outed a new firmware package targeted at its T (Typ 701) digital camera, namely version 1.2, which includes additional functions, improves overall performance, and can be applied regardless of the OS.

This new release allows the camera to connect to a known wireless network faster, adjusts and scales the keyboard design to improve typing handling, and enhances the Soft Dial, Exposure Compensation, and Flash indications.

In addition to that, version 1.2 smooths the transitions by minimizing the “Automatic Monitor brightness” adjustments and includes various other fixes and general improvements.

Moreover, Leica’s release also adds new features such as Dial Lock, Touch AF+ Release, Playback in EVF, Auto Review, Zoom Function Playback, Switch Live view Still and Video, as well as several others that you can view on the description page of this download.

When it comes to installing this firmware, just save and extract the downloadable archive, copy the “T701_V12.TUF” file onto a formatted SD card, make sure the camera’s battery is fully charged, and insert the memory card while the device is powered off.

Now turn on the Leica T while holding the “Video Release” button, press “Ok” at the firmware update screen, and wait for about 90 seconds so that the new software is applied properly. Upon completion, simply reboot the camera, remove the SD card, and you’re done.

With this in mind, download Leica T (Typ 701) Camera Firmware 1.2, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and upgrade the camera to the latest software version. Also, constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
