Intel has just made available the 20.1 version of its Ethernet Connections CD and network adapter drivers (as well as administrative tools), which includes compatibility with the producer’s X552 and X557-AT 10GBASE-T Ethernet connections, and more.

Specifically speaking, this new release adds Linux support for VXLAN Overlay on Intel Ethernet Controller X552-based devices, and changes the PROSet prefix for Windows Device Manager ANS teams from “TEAM : ” to “TEAM: ”.

In addition to that, starting with this version, Intel’s Ethernet Flash Firmware Utility (BootUtil), as well as its PROSet for WDM (Windows Device Manager), will not support boot images prior to release 17.1 anymore.

When it comes to supported OSes, Intel has provided several Network Adapter files for each architecture of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, 8.1 operating system, as well as for the 64-bit variants of Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2012 R2 platforms.

As for the Ethernet Connections CD and Administrative Tools, the producer has made available two separate files that are compatible with all aforementioned operating systems. Moreover, besides these OSes, the package is also suitable for both 32- and 64-bit variants of Windows 10.

When it comes to applying the new version, simply get and run the appropriate file, and follow all on-screen instructions for a complete and successful installation. Also, don’t forget to perform a system restart to make sure that all changes take effect properly.

That being said, if you consider upgrading to this version, download Intel Ethernet CD/Network Adapter Driver 20.1, select the package suitable for your OS and bit variant, take into account all above-mentioned aspects, and upgrade your network adapter.
