Intel has just made available PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth version 17.1.1411.01, which consists of several packages recommended for end-customers (such as home users), as well as for IT administrators of large corporations, universities, and other similar organizations.

When it comes to compatibility, Intel’s release is suitable for both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems.

As for the downloadable packages, there are 6 executables and 6 zip files (one for each compatible OS and bit architecture) that can be used by home users and IT administrators, respectively.

In addition to that, Intel has also provided its IT administrators with another zip archive that includes all files required for installing its PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth software on all of the aforementioned compatible platforms.

Another aspect that you should take into account is that each download consists of two versions, namely a WP variant suitable for Intel’s Wireless-N, Dual Band Wireless-N, and Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 adapters, and a StP release developed for completely different devices.

Specifically speaking, this latter package version is targeted at the producer’s Centrino Advanced-N 6235 adapter, Centrino Wireless-N 135, 1030, and 2230 network devices, as well as at its Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 components.

Moreover, the StP compatibility list also highlights Intel’s Wireless-N 7260, Dual Band Wireless-N 7260, and the Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 (including the desktop variant) Bluetooth adapters.
