Intel has outed a new PROSet/Wireless driver version targeted at several of its Wi-Fi adapters, namely build 17.1.0, which is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems.

In order to be clear, this new update is to be applied on computers that include one of Intel’s Centrino Advanced-N 6235, 6205, and 6205 for Desktop units, the Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 adapter, or Centrino Wireless-N 105, 135, and 2230 devices.

In addition to that, the producer’s Wireless-N 7260 and 7265 Wi-Fi components, Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160, 7265, 7260, and 7260 for Desktop adapters, as well as the Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 and 7265 units are also compatible with this release.

As for the available packages, Intel has provided 12 executables (6 drivers-only and 6 drivers-with WiFi Software for each OS and bit variant) targeted at home users and business customers who don’t need advanced IT administrator tools.

Moreover, the producer has also made available 9 archives developed for IT administrators, large corporations, universities, and others.

Specifically speaking, you can choose to download the particular file for your OS and bit version, the file compatible with all platforms but for a specific bit architecture, or the file including all drivers and WiFi software described above.
