Intel has just announced the availability of a new version of its Iris and HD Graphics driver, namely 10.18.14.4080, which includes various fixes and improvements for games such as Quake 4, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Assassin’s Creed: Unity, and more.

When it comes to compatibility, this release is suitable for system configurations including one of Intel’s 4th or 5th-gen Core CPUs that benefit from an HD, Iris, and Iris Pro graphics chipset, as well as Core M processors with Intel HD Graphics 5300.

In addition to that, the computer must also be powered by one of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 operating systems, either 32- or 64-bit variant.

As for the changes, build 4080 adds support for HEVC and VP9 video formats, includes compatibility for “cl_intel_subgroups” and “cl_intel_advanced_motion_estimation” OpenCL extensions, and allows making use of OpenGL’s “GL_EXT_polygon_offset_clamp” extension.

If you upgrade to this release, display flickering and corruptions, certain crash events, and various other issues will be resolved for games such as Quake 4, Halo 2, CoD: Ghosts, CoD: Advanced Warfare, Ryse: Son of Rome, Sleeping Dogs, Assassin’s Creed: Unity, and Sniper Elite III.

Moreover, Extended Desktop settings are fixed, black screen, display freeze, or screen corruptions won’t be encountered in Remote Connection, XSplit Broadcaster app won’t slow down your computer anymore, and Skype’s video conference call will now work properly.
