Intel has made available a new BIOS package compatible with its DH87RL desktop board, namely version 0327, which adds a new Post Halt feature and changes the watchdog timer warning message.

In addition to that, the new update also fixes an issue where the default temperature thresholds (that were set too low) caused irrelevant alerts in the producer’s Desktop Utilities, and implements specific security improvements in order to comply with the 1001888 Technical Advisory.

When it comes to the versions included in this release, the ME Firmware build, the Graphics, LAN, and SATA RAID Option ROMs variants, as well as the Visual BIOS remain unchanged from the Intel DH87RL Desktop Board BIOS 0326 update.

As for the downloadable files, the producer made available 4 packages, as with its previous release, namely a BIOS Recovery download (RL0327.BIO), an iflash Update file (.zip format), and two executables that describe the Express BIOS Upgrade procedure.

Bear in mind that flashing a new BIOS should be performed only when the newer version specifically solves an issue that you have been encountering.

Moreover, if you need to apply a different build, make sure you do this using a UPS so that no power outage affects your board, and don’t try to downgrade the BIOS as this task isn’t recommended/supported.

With this in mind, download Intel DH87RL Desktop Board BIOS 0327, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and install the latest BIOS version on your desktop board.
