Intel has just made available the 10.18.14.4170 version of its Iris and HD Graphics driver, which applies the 6.16.0.3172 display audio driver and includes support for 5th Generation Core CPUs with HD Graphics 5500, HD Graphics 6000, and Iris Graphics 6100.

In addition to that, besides the aforementioned drivers, build 4170 also installs Intel’s OpenCL driver, Media SDK Runtime and Graphics Control Panel.

When it comes to changes, this update implements key enhancements for the producer’s 4th-gen Core processors, improves overall system performance by up to 10% when running 3DMark11 benchmark, and includes various fixes for game, app, display and UI issues.

The present release consists of 2 downloadable files compatible with Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems, one for each 32- and 64-bit variants.

In terms of installation steps, simply save and unzip the appropriate archive for your system configuration, run the available setup file, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful upgrade.

Moreover, once the process has finished, it would be a good idea to perform a reboot to ensure all changes take effect properly. However, if this task isn’t requested automatically, manually restarting your computer is highly recommended.
