Hoverfly, an American manufacturer and developer of autonomous aerial robotics and easy-to-use flight-control systems, has released a new firmware for their PRO and GPS Controllers.

The new update has a large changelog, which is a sign that this is no maintenance release.

New features include arming notification, rate of climb altitude slew and “carefree.” Since the last one might be a bit ambiguous, let's explain that.

“Carefree” is not really a new feature since it has been present in the last firmware as well. What it does is to simplify the front and back movement of the craft with its elevator stick. Also, the right and left movement is handled by the aileron nob.

Major fixes can be found in the “Position Hold” feature of the GPS controller which has been completely re-written and now performs well in still, constant wind, and gusty wind conditions.

Also, the “Return-to-Home” function has been re-written as well and now performs well in all conditions.
