The new release fixes SuperView mode distortion issue

GoPro, well known for its high-end action cameras, has just rolled out firmware 1.07 suitable only for its HERO unit, which resolves the distortion encountered when capturing video in SuperView mode, and also includes other improvements and bug fixes.

If you own this specific GoPro device and consider upgrading it to version 1.07, then save and unzip the downloadable archive, and move the newly-extracted “UPDATE” folder that contains file “HD3.20-firmware.bin” to your camera’s microSD card (must be formatted).

Now, safely remove the memory card from your computer, manually turn off your HERO camera, properly insert the memory card into its available microSD slot, and turn the unit on.

At this point, GoPro’s HERO camera will cycle through a certain number beeps and reboot itself for a few times. Bear in mind that you mustn’t interfere with the device as this behavior is normal – just allow the camera to do its job.

Finally, your imaging unit will display an “> UPDATING” message for a while and then turn off (this event announces a successful installation). If so, remove and format the microSD card to avoid any unwanted problems, and you’re done.

However, you should know that trying to upgrade your camera using the downloaded “UPDATE.ZIP” archive instead of its content (UPDATE folder) could cause various device malfunctions in a worst-case scenario.

With this in mind, download GoPro HERO Camera Firmware 1.07, carefully apply it by following the steps described above, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
