For its two Network Audio Players (NAP), namely the N-30 and N-50 devices, Pioneer has a recent firmware update, version 1.020, that brings significant improvements and extends support for different features.

Therefore, this package adds support for the Apple Lossless Audio Codec and AIFF, but only up to 96kHz/24bit and 192kHz/24bit, respectively. Also, Gapless Playback is compatible with the WAV, FLAC, ALAC, and AIFF formats.

Moreover, the front USB’s supported frequency is changed to 192KHz, and "Pioneer ControlApp" operability is improved. And let’s not forget about the improvements made for the Pause and Skip Back functions, as well as the DMC movement.

In order to install this update, a formatted USB device is required, on which you must copy the “NAP12Main_1020.bcd” file found in the downloadable archive. Connect the USB to the Player, turn it on, and from the Initial Setup screen, choose Option Setting and then Software Update.

At this moment, the device will turn the display off for like twenty seconds, and after it switches back on, the upgrade progress will be visible – when this is complete, the player will reboot and the process is finished.

So, before you follow one of the links below and get started, bear in mind that it is very important not to unplug the power cable or the USB device while the upgrade is in progress.
