A few moments ago, FiiO has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for its X5 portable music player, namely version 2.2, which adds support for serial number display even though this addition is available only for the new production of X5 devices.

In addition to that, the new release adds support for .irc, .m3u, and .m3u8 file formats, allows picture display on the cover folder, and includes a new way of locking the screen, raising the models number to 3.

When it comes to improvements, version 2.2 enhances display of DTS 5.1 songs, renews the songs list automatically whenever a TF card that contains music files is attached in order to display all titles, and modifies the Albums, Styling, Singer names so that they display the same folder.

Moreover, this new release also improves the forward and backward features, the list browsing speed when it contains a large number of files, and the songs’ ID3 message.

Last but not least, the issue where no sound was heard the first two seconds of the first song in the playlist has been resolved, the hang problem encountered in certain situations has been fixed, and several software bugs have been removed.

With this in mind, if you intend to apply this package on your device, then download FiiO X5 Portable Player Firmware 2.2, and update your music player to the latest firmware version. Also, constantly check out our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
