FiiO has just made available a new firmware version developed for its X3 portable audio player, namely build 3.0, which includes a new user interface that supports several color themes (orange, yellow, purple, blue, green, and black), as well as various new feature and fixes.

Specifically speaking, version 3.0 enhances media library update speed, improves receptivity to track change, as well as to fast forward and rewind operations, and adds support for cue sheets for mp3 files, HE-AAC format, and 32-, 64-bit, and floating point music tracks.

In addition to that, the X3 player will support DSF and DFF files in DSD64 format (DSD128 format or ISO files are not yet compatible), and benefits from a new large charging indicator on LCD screen when player is powered off.

If firmware 3.0 is applied, the decoding quality for mp3, wma, ogg, vorbis, and flac files is raised, the ID3 tag album art has no size restriction whatsoever, and UTF-8 and Unicode files are now supported.

Moreover, track playback for files with 32kHz sample rate is now supported, a zero gap is added for songs with the same sample rate, and the problem with flac songs that were improperly split by CUE files is resolved.

That being said, download FiiO X3 Portable Player Firmware 3.0, apply it on your device, and enjoy the benefits brought by this newly-released update.
