If yesterday EVGA released the 1.22 BIOS version for the Z75 and Z77 Intel-Based boards, as well as the R22 BIOS package for its P67 and Z68 Series motherboards, today they took a new step and released the 047 BIOS version targeted at the Intel X79 Chipset boards.

This new package is compatible with all of Microsoft’s operating systems starting with Windows XP (both bit versions), and it suits the EVGA X79 SLI, FTW, and Classified motherboards.

If installed, the BIOS will fix the S3 system sleeping state resume issue, and it will remove the SAS entry from Device Manager as well.

In order to update the system BIOS, first you must load its default settings. Do not flash the BIOS on overclocked settings, and more than that, make sure not to restart or interrupt the system while the upgrade is in progress, so as to avoid the risk of irreversible damage.

Afterwards, within the downloadable archive, you will find three files: the “FPTWIN32.BAT” and “FPTWIN64.BAT” files for the 32- and 64-bit versions, respectively, and the “FPTDOS.BAT” file for DOS Mode installation.

Run one of the files that suits your OS and press “Y” to start the update process. After this is complete, the system will shut down, at which point you will have to power it on and load the Default BIOS settings again.

Now, follow the link below and choose the one that best describes your Intel X79 Based motherboard.
