NVIDIA has released the latest Quadro/Tesla Desktop graphics driver, version 311.15, which is a language independent file compatible with the 64-bit versions of the Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7 and also Windows 8.

The NVIDIA Display Driver service (nvvsvc.exe) benefits from a security update, there are some workstation compatibility fixes, increased performance over the older driver versions, as well as support for NVIDIA GRID K1 and K2 products.

The AutoCAD Performance driver isn’t integrated in the driver any more, but there are standalone versions that can be downloaded, and Quadro SDI products support is discontinued for Microsoft’s latest operating system.

If the driver is updated, the Tool Path won’t disappear any more. In case the view direction is changed, OpenCL can be compiled without Nvcompiler.dll to crash, and you can press as many middle mouse button clicks without making the Houdini 12.1 application hang.

Bear in mind that, before you update the driver, NVIDIA recommends to uninstall nTune and to disable SLI Mosaic mode. Afterwards, you can come back to the original configuration.
