Ricoh Imaging has just released new firmware for the GR, K-5II and K-5IIs digital cameras. The last two are better known under the Pentax brand.

The list of changes and added features is impressive for the GR camera, while for the K5-II and K5-IIs, the release notes mention a corrected issue regarding the unstable performance with the previous firmware version.

To update, download the archive from the link below and unzip it to an accessible location. Copy the extracted content to a formatted SD card and insert it in the camera. Make sure you have a fully charged battery.

For the K5-II and K5-IIs, after you've inserted the SD card, press the power and “Menu” buttons. From there, follow the on-screen instructions and complete the installation.

To update the GR camera, power it on and go to “Menu” – “Set-up” – “Confirm Firmware Version.”

When the installation is complete, remove the SD card and format it for further use.

The new firmware files are available at the link below. Download and install the one for your camera and stay “updated one minute ago.”
