The latest BIOS that EVGA has recently released, version 044, is targeted for the Intel X79 chipset based motherboards, namely X79 SLI, X79 FTW, as well as X79 Classified.

This BIOS release updates memory overclocking page layout, and moreover, it improves memory and CPU compatibility, fixes some labeling issues, and various other fixes.

This release doesn’t fix the USB 3.0 functionality issue, and the PCIe 3.0 issue with some graphics cards despite EVGA users’ expectations.

The BIOS is compatible with all of Microsoft’s operating systems, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Specifically speaking, it has an “FPTWIN32.BAT” file, and an “FPTWIN64.BAT” file for the 32-bit, and 64-bit version respectively. It has an “FPTDOS.BAT” as well, for a DOS Mode installation.

Bear in mind that, if you consider updating your BIOS version, it is strongly recommended not to turn off the system during the upgrade process. Additionally, make sure not to start the process with overclocked BIOS settings.
