Intel releases a new driver version for their RAID-oriented utility/ driver going by the name of Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver.

The Intel RAID driver now reaches version 11.0.0.1032 and will support four arrays: RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5 and RAID 10. Like with almost any storage-related driver, users are required to perform a preinstall operation using a floppy disk or other similar method.

F6 and BIOS RAID configurations are of course needed before installing the proper driver. Please make sure you download the preinstall driver suitable for your operating system, in terms of 32 or 64-bit editions. Failing to choose the right preinstall driver will result in installation errors.

Intel delivers the current driver for the Intel desktop boards, codenamed DX58OG and DX58SO2. We recommend that you only install these drivers if you know what you're doing; if you're not sure, please ask for help and wait.
