If this firmware doesn't work for you, you can revert to the previous official release

OPPO has just released a new firmware for its BDP-103 and BDP-105 Blu-ray disc players. Version 60-0808B is a Public Beta, which means that you may encounter some issues while using it. However, OPPO awaits your bug report for better future updates.

The release notes start by saying that if you install this update and encounter too many issues or feel uncomfortable with it, a revert to the previous official release is available. I mention that because once you have an official firmware installed, reverting is impossible.

Furthermore, because this firmware has come through with some major changes, the manufacturer recommends users to perform a factory reset after the update is installed. Remember your settings and adjust the proper volume level before playing any content. Not doing so may lead to stability issues.

Compared to the official version, the public beta is designed to work with a new version of the Apple iOS control application, Media Control HD V2.0 for iPad and iPad mini, which adds new features such as SMB access, album art display, media category support, and the ability to post to popular social networks.

Automatic sorting of content when accessing via SMB is now added and the folders and files will now be sorted alphabetically.

CUE file support has been improved and now can point to multiple music files located in the same folder.

Stereo Audio Out configuration errors have been resolved and general disc compatibility improvements have been made is order to deal with recent and upcoming Blu-ray releases.

Below are the links to the firmware. Download it, install it and stay “updated one minute ago.”
