Microsoft has made available the download links for its latest firmware and drivers package version, namely the March 2014 release targeted at the Surface Pro and Surface Pro 2 tablets, which are compatible only with its Windows 8 and 8.1 operating systems.

If installed, this release will enhance the touchpad’s multiple finger performance by updating the Type and Touch Cover 2 firmware and will add support for Surface Power Cover by applying a new version.

Moreover, Marvell’s AVASTAR 350N wireless controller driver version has also been upgraded in order to resolve a specific connectivity issue and to improve the Miracast support. In addition to that, the Bluetooth radio adapter variant has been updated as well.

Aside from these changes, the Surface Pro 2 tablet benefits from an enhanced BitLocker experience through a new UEFI build (PIN input is now available) and from improved Cover stability thanks to its new Cover Telemetry version.

Last but not least, the Surface Pro 2 release also includes the 6.16.00.3135 display audio driver, the 10.18.10.3431 HD graphics family package, and the 4.5.44.0 WiDi audio device version, all provided by Intel. These files improve once more the Miracast support and allow for multiple DisplayPort 1.2 compatible monitors to be used.

That being said, download Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet Firmware/Driver March 2014 or download Microsoft Surface Pro 2 Tablet Firmware/Driver March 2014 depending on which device you own, apply it, and enjoy your newly updated tablet.
