Intel’s latest BIOS update, version 0098, is targeted at the DZ77BH-55K desktop board. This release updates the processor support, and the Marvell drive icon is not missing any more. Also, it fixes “Force Secure Boot defaults” issue, which, when enabled, would make 3 keys disappear and “Secure Boot Mode” would still be set to “Custom.”

This release comes with four files: one OS independent file used for recovery, one DOS-based installation file, as well as two Windows-based installation files.

The Recovery BIOS Update file [BH0098.BIO] can be used in the event of the BIOS update process being interrupted or left in an unstable state. It must be used from a CD or a USB drive.

The Iflash BIOS Update / Integrator Toolkit BIOS file [BHZ7710H.86A.0098.BI.ZIP] also requires a CD or USB device, and it is a DOS-based utility used in the update process.

Last but not least, the Express BIOS Update files are Windows-based files that include, besides the update utility, the Software License Agreement. The BHZ7710H.86A.0098.EB.EXE and BHZ7710H.86A.0098.EB.WINPE64.EXE files are compatible with Windows 32-bit and 64-bit version, respectively.

Bear in mind that the update process is unnecessary if it doesn’t fix a specific problem, and also be sure not to interrupt the process because it could harm the board.

This said, to have an up-to-date board, follow the link below and choose the file that best describes the method you want to use.
