NETGEAR has made available a new firmware package compatible with its WC7520 wireless controller, namely version 2.5.0.35, which fixes various bugs regarding DHCP server, captive portal, and AP LED states.

In addition to that, applying this release will also allow UK zipcodes to register product information, and add security fixes in order to prevent some reported vulnerabilities in accessing controller through UI.

When it comes to installing this update, first of all make sure that the firmware currently running on your device isn’t either newer or matching this release.

That being said, save and extract the downloadable archive, establish a wired connection between controller and computer using an Ethernet cable, go to Maintenance > Upgrade > Firmware Upgrade, and click the “Browse” button next to the Local File section.

Afterwards, just navigate and select the newly-extracted .bin file, click “Apply,” and allow the wireless controller to do its job. Once completed, your WC7520 device will automatically reboot.

However, bear in mind that, you mustn’t close the browser, power off or reboot controller/computer, or make use of any of the controller’s buttons. Doing so might crash the firmware upgrade and this could cause serious device malfunctions.

Taking into account all aforementioned aspects, download NETGEAR WC7520 Wireless Controller Firmware 2.5.0.35, apply it on your unit, and constantly check our website to be aware when a newer version is available.
