Intel has outed a new BIOS package targeted at DN2820FYKH next unit computing kits, namely version 0040, which updates CPU support and adds a new option in the BIOS menu that allows users to enable/disable USB S5 Power.

In addition to that, the present release fixes issues with the USB 3.0 port disable function, the Power button menu miss in Security jumper feature, as well as the F10 boot menu showing incorrect information when right-clicking.

When it comes to the included version, BIOS 0040 applies the 2.3.1 UEFI revision, 2.2.7 VBIOS, 2.0.26 LAN UEFI driver, and 2.59 PXE 2.1 Build 083 LAN option ROM.

Moreover, the new release also installs the 7.2.1006 integrated graphics GOP driver and the 14.34.1018 integrated graphics option ROM, and updates the TXE firmware to version 1.0.5.1120.

As for the downloadable package, Intel has provided a Recovery BIOS Update (FY0040.BIO) file that can be used to recover the BIOS from an unusable state, as well as an iflash BIOS Update archive that can apply version 0040 regardless of the OS powering your NUC.

Besides these two packages, the producer has also made available two executables (one for each bit architecture) that are to be used to apply the present version from Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 interfaces.

However, bear in mind that flashing the BIOS should be performed only when the newer version specifically solves an issue that you have been encountering or adds a new feature that you can make use of.

That being said, download Intel DN2820FYKH NUC Kit BIOS 0040, familiarize yourself with the installation procedure, apply the new version, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
