While new features are added to the Ninja-2 device, for Ronin it’s just an initial release

Atomos has made available two new firmware packages for its field recorders, namely version 4.12 and 4.11, targeted at its Ninja-2 and Ronin devices, which add new features, but only for the first device. For the Ronin recorder, it’s just an initial release.

However, the 4.12 Ninja-2 firmware adds Canon 5D Mark III input color correction option in “Menu/Display”so that it matches REC709 standard, and a frame accurate audio delay option in “Audio” page to be able to adjust any analog or digital audio lag.

Moreover, Alpha 99, Nikon D800, and Canon 5D Mark III users should set their devices to 1, 3, and 4 to 6 frames audio delay, respectively, from the newly added option.

Last but not least, FS700 and other capable cameras receive the Sony HDMI record start/stop triggering feature, and the state of the loop in/out buttons is cleared when viewing a new video.

So, if you consider applying one of the available firmware versions (either Ninja-2 or Ronin package), from the links below, choose the one that best describes your Atomos device, download, and update your recorder.
