The new release fixes the exported OVPN config for clients

Well known for its custom firmware releases, AsusWrt-Merlin has announced the availability of a new update package compatible with some of ASUS’ wireless routers, namely version 378.54.2, which fixes the incorrect port value for exported OVPN config for clients.

In addition to that, this release also resolves the Busybox’s missing patch (from 378_4950) that didn’t allow it to work properly. This issue prevented igmpproxy from working for users with PPPoE connections as well.

As for upgrading to this release, just save and unzip the appropriate archive for your specific device model, establish a wired connection between your router and a computer, and log into its administration page.

Afterwards, go to Advanced Settings > Administration > Firmware Upgrade, hit the “Choose File” button near the “New Firmware File” section, select the newly extracted .trx file, click “Upload,” and wait for your router to do its job.

However, bear in mind that interrupting this process can result in serious device malfunctions. Thus, make sure not to turn off/reboot neither the router nor the computer, close the web browser, or remove the power/Ethernet cable.

Moreover, this release can be reverted at any time by installing the appropriate software. Still, do not load a saved copy of your settings from one firmware to another, as that will improperly configure the device.

That being said, download AsusWrt-Merlin Router Firmware 378.54.2 for your specific model, apply it, and constantly check our website to stay informed when newer versions are available for your device.
