Corsair has released a new audio driver targeted at some of its gaming headsets, namely version 2.0.25 beta compatible with the Vengeance 1500, 1500V2, 2000, and 2100 devices, which drops support for Windows XP but adds Windows 8.1 compatibility.

In addition to that, the new update fixes a problem with the rear channel volume when in Dolby 5.1 mode, improves positional accuracy in surround mode, and resolves several Windows 8.1-related issues.

Moreover, Corsair’s 2.0.25 beta version also fixes the 44.1kHz sampling rate issue and removes the 8kHz and 16kHz sampling rates from the options menu.

However, don’t forget that this update is a beta release, therefore various sound issue might still be encountered.

If this unlikely event happens, the producer recommends that you go to Control Panel → Sound → Vengeance headset → Properties → Advanced tab, and make sure the default format setting is set to 16bit, 48000hz (DVD Quality) – if not, select as described and click “Apply.”

That being said, if you consider installing this beta version, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your Corsair gaming headset, get and apply the latest driver, and enjoy your newly updated device.
