The present release fixes overall AutoFocus performance

Just now, Canon’s EOS 6D digital camera has received a new firmware update, namely version 1.1.6, which improves overall AutoFocus (AF) performance and corrects some language problems.

Specifically speaking, this new release resolves an issue where the AF function couldn’t be finely adjusted using specific lenses when using EOS Utility software for remote shooting, and corrects the Ukrainian menu language for ISO Setting.

In addition to that, setting AF point selection to automatic in AI Servo mode will now allow the camera to use center AF point to focus. This issue was spotted after applying EOS 6D Camera Firmware 1.1.4.

Now, in order to benefit from these changes, first initialize a compatible memory card using the camera body, save and extract the downloadable archive, and transfer firmware file “6D000116.FIR” onto it.

When these steps are completed, turn the camera off, rotate Mode Dial to “P,” insert the prepared SD card, and power on your EOS 6D unit.

Afterwards, go to Menu > Set-Up 4 > Firmware Version, choose the .FIR file saved on the card, select “Yes” to initiate the upgrade, and allow your device to do its job. Also, upon completion, hit “Ok,” turn the camera off, remove both the battery and the SD card, and you’re done.

With this in mind, download Canon EOS 6D Camera Firmware 1.1.6, take into account all aforementioned steps, and apply the latest software version on your device in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
