COWON has released a 2.11 firmware version for the X7 MP3 player, which fixes various error issues that users might have experienced. Although the file is OS-independent, if MAC or Linux is used in the update process, the COWON device must be formatted after the upgrade is complete.

So, before starting the process, it is strongly recommended that the battery is fully charged, the reset button is not pressed under any circumstances, and a backup of the important data is done.

If checked, connect the X7 device to the PC via a USB cable and copy the files found within the downloadable file to the root drive of the MP3’s storage. Afterwards, disconnect the X7 through the safely remove feature that the OS has available.

Now, to start the update process just go to Settings --> System --> Information. Wait until the process completes, and go on the same path again in order to check whether the upgrade is a success.

All you need now is the downloadable file that you can get by following the link below.
