The new updates fix some Cloud Storage and System issues

Buffalo has outed two new firmware packages compatible with some of its TeraStation devices, namely version 2.81 targeted at TS 4000 and 5000 NAS series, as well as update 2.44 suitable for 2RZ series devices.

When it comes to changes, Buffalo’s 2.81 release only resolves a Cloud Storage issue encountered when uploading multiple files (larger than 64MB) simultaneously, where the transfer would fail for no reason.

As for the producer’s 2.44 update, this version fixes a system error that caused the TeraStation to freeze when processing a high load with iSCSI enabled.

Moreover, the phenomenon where neither shared folders nor RAID mode changes would appear on the unit’s Settings screen is also resolved in firmware 2.44. However, after upgrading your TeraStation, you must initialize its values.

In terms of supported products, while release 2.81 is suitable for TS5200D, TS5400D, TS5600D, TS5800D, and TS5400R (5000 Series), as well as for TS4200D, TS4400D, TS4800D, and TS4400R models (4000 Series), Buffalo’s 2.44 update only supports TS-2RZH and TS-2RZS devices.

Thus, if you intend to upgrade your TeraStation, you should also take into account that the producer has provided two downloadable packages for each available version.

Specifically speaking, one file is suitable for Mac OS X 10.4 and later platforms, and the other one is compatible with Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1 OSes, as well as with Server 2003, 2008, and 2012.

That being said, from the links below, click on the one that best describes your device series, look for your specific TeraStation model, and save and apply the latest firmware on your product.
