Buffalo has made available a new firmware package developed for its TS3000 Series network-attached storages, namely version 1.30, compatible with TS3200D, TS3400D, and TS3400R device models, which includes several changes that improve overall security.

Specifically speaking, this new update resolves various bugs that enabled protocols other than SMB on the migration targeted TeraStation, or the ones that improperly activated/deactivated access restrictions.

In addition to that, the producer’s new firmware also modifies error messages for loading config file failure, network disconnection while transfer is in progress, as well as for the event where migration target joins a different domain network.

Moreover, version 1.30 fixes the issue where no error message was displayed when the number of registrable shared folders, users, and groups reaches limit, and the bug that reverted access restrictions to disabled when rebooting the TeraStation.

When it comes to installation, Buffalo has provided 2 downloadable files: one supporting Mac OS X 10.6 and later, and the other compatible with Microsoft’s Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, Server (2003, 2008, and 2012) operating systems.

Regardless of your computer’s OS, bear in mind that you mustn’t reboot either device during installation, as this can cause serious device malfunctions or render the TeraStation unusable.

That being told, download Buffalo TS3000 NAS Series Firmware 1.30, carefully apply it on your device, and constantly check our website in order to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
