Buffalo has outed the 1.65 firmware version for its LinkStation NAS series devices, which brings a considerable number of fixes, and consists of separate files supporting all of Microsoft’s Windows OSes, as well as the Mac platform.

Specifically speaking, the devices supported by this newly released package are the LinkStation LS-WXL, LS-WSXL, LS-VL, LS-WVL, LS-QVL, and LS-XL. In addition to that, the firmware adds support for the LS-AVL, LS-XHL, LS-CHL, and LS-SL NASes as well.

As for fixes, the firmware repairs the issues with the USB device server and disk checks that didn’t work properly with previous software versions.

Moreover, USB drives larger than 2TB are now detected, and Pioneer N-30 and Onkyo T-4070 network media players can pause when playing music. In addition, media server and iTunes are now correctly configured after initializing the LinkStation.

If you consider updating to the latest version, bear in mind that the device mustn't be turned off while the upgrade is in progress, and if the "152:Unknown error occurred" message is displayed, make sure to update Navigator2 to the latest version.

Now, follow the link below, and from the list, choose the one that best describes your NAS and your operating system.
