Just now, BlackMagic Design has outed a new firmware update utility package compatible with all of its professional cameras, namely version 1.9.3, which can be used along with Microsoft’s Windows 7 and 8 operating systems (64-bit), as well as with Mac OS X platforms.

When it comes to changes, this new release adds histogram, time remaining, and audio level indicators to the Cinema Camera EF and MFT devices, and resolves the issue that occasionally dropped frames in camera playback for the Pocket Cinema Camera unit.

In addition to that, the pocket camera also receives the histogram and level indicators just like the aforementioned unit. To make use of this addition, simply press Up or Down to display or hide the meters, or Left and Right if you want to adjust the active MFT lens aperture.

As for the other imaging unit, this firmware update utility doesn’t include any changes at all. However, if you simply want to stay up to date, you can still apply the package on either Windows or Mac platforms.

To do so, remove any previously installed utility, save and extract the appropriate downloadable archive, run the available setup, and follow the onscreen instructions for a complete installation.

That being said, download BlackMagic Camera Firmware Update Utility 1.9.3, apply it on your computer, and update you camera. Also, check out our website as often as possible in order to be up to speed with latest releases.
